
Open learning - Open Learning Australia (OLA) is an alternative to traditional university and TAFE education. It provides students information via television and radio programs, and involves the purchase of study materials for assignments and completion of exams.
The Open Learning Deferred Payment Scheme (OLDPS) - OLDPS allow eligible students taking undergraduate study through OLA to defer payment part of the fee for their units by taking out a loan from the Commonwealth government. Students repay their loans through the taxation system once their income reach minimum level.
Australian Correspondence Schools (ACS)- Established to educate full and part-time students, ACS currently has 2,500 enrolled students. Recognised as a training organisation under Australia’s Vocational Education System, industry and accreditation authorities formally endorse several of ACS courses.
Adult and Community Education (ACE) - Community based adult education is open to all. It provides general adult education programs and activities outside the formal programs provided by schools, VET and higher education sectors. The community education and VET sectors are the largest ACE providers, with courses ranging from general interest, recreational and leisure activities, personal development, social awareness and craft through to vocational, remedial and basic education.
